After the delivery and ongoing success of the XO brand, Swell were again engaged to help bring the team’s new venture to life. An eatery dedicated to uniting flavours and experiences from the East and West. Morning Glory delivers food that comforts, satisfies and surprises in the heart of one of Canberra’s most accomplished hospitality precincts. +

The team’s exceptional precision to service were the foundations which informed the monospaced nature of the typography. Based around these traits we developed a logotype that effortlessly reduces to form the brand monogram; with a hint of gold alluding to sister brand and eatery, XO.

Inspired by the 'Morning Glory' cloud formation, we developed a visualisation of this rare phenomenon — referencing both the wave of clouds and the fusion between East and West. The moiré acts as a visual manifestation of the concept.

Working closely with interior designers, Capezio Copeland, we crafted a meaningful signage system which blends harmoniously with the interiors and surrounding architecture. Layered disks of etched acrylic, marble and gold elegantly applied to the glazing reference the sun, while the Eastern and Western signs are coloured white and black respectively in correlation to the rise and fall of the sun.
